Our family LOVES to make gifts for others at Christmas. It’s economical and it makes it extra special when it’s handmade! We also have a tradition of a new ornament each year for everyone so these DIY Personalized Ornaments are perfect as they are handmade and cost very little to make!
As with many of my crafts I started with the items in my home and then went to the Dollar Tree for the rest of my supplies. I’m always surprised what I find there! What doesn’t surprise me is the great bargains!

Materials needed for Personalized Ornaments
Either full size Jenga game or the Jenga mini game from the Dollar Tree!
Wax Paper (makes for easy clean up!)
Jute twine
Vinyl or Sharpies
Steps to make personalized Christmas ornaments
Paint Jenga pieces in the colors that you like. Let paint dry completely. I used chalk paint but acrylic would work too!
If you are using beads you can paint your beads to match the ornaments. Or go super easy and order beads in the colors that you want.
Spray beads with Rust-Oleum matte clear spray to seal the paint. You don’t HAVE to do this but the paint will last longer if you do.
Design and cut the words to go on your ornaments on your vinyl cutting machine. I have a Silhouette Cameo but a Cricut Air would work too!
If you don't have a cutting machine you can use a Sharpie to write the words or names on the ornaments!
This year I gave words to friends and personalized an ornament for all my neices and nephews! So fun to do something special for them!
Apply the words to your ornaments.
Attach screw eyes. It’s easier if you drill a small hole first but it can be done if you don’t want to do that part.
Cut the jute twine in 10 inch lengths. Thread the twin through the screw eyes and thread a jingle bell or beads as well. You can do both or neither if you want to go simple!
Tie a knot and you are done! These go fast and it’s easy to do them assembly line style and get the whole family to help!
