For the first time in a couple of years, I'm ready to bring out the glittery JOY of Christmas! Have you ever wanted to have glittery words of the season in your home? This tutorial will make it easy to make these handmade glitter letters for your Christmas decorating!
I don't like Christmas clutter
We will be home for Thanksgiving Day this year so I suggested to my hubby that we get out the Christmas lights to decorate the house while the turkey bakes. He just about fell over because he knows that I really don’t like to decorate for Christmas.
He puts up with my pumpkins and baskets through the fall but he LOVES Christmas. I try to have a good attitude about getting out all the decorations but my minimalist self feels overwhelmed by the extra "stuff" in the house. For the past couple of years we've done less and I've been happier.
Christmas Glitter Letters
A couple of years ago I made the words NOEL in glitter letters. My kids love to mix up the NOEL when I'm not looking so that we have LEON on the shelf for a few hours. It's a harmless funk prank that makes me laugh when I find it.
This year I wanted to add the word JOY to my glittery collection and I'd love to hear what word you choose to make in the comments below!
Materials needed to make glitter letters

Mod Podge
Glitter—whatever color that you like!
White Paint
Craft paint brushes
Instructions for making Glitter Letters
Paint your letters. Don’t forget the sides. Let them completely dry.
Apply Mod Podge and then sprinkle the letters with glitter.
Let your letters dry and shake off the extra glitter.
Find the perfect place for your letters and add some twinkle lights to top off the total sparkly look! Mine are up on top of my mom's china cabinet with some greenery and red accents.
I'm also super excited to share the Bling on the Holiday's blog hop! 15 bloggers have teamed up to share some awesome bling for the holiday season. Get inspired by all the BLING!
